Working towards common goals, including roaming, interconnection, billing, devices, fraud, security, and more, the GSMA Working Groups are what make mobile work! They facilitate collaboration, consensus building and harmonisation among GSMA members, create frameworks and requirements for operational matters, and influence mobile industry standardisation and solution development.

WAS – Wholesale Agreements and Solutions

FASG – Fraud and Security Group

eSIM – eSIM Working Group

IDS – Interoperability Data Specifications and Settlement

Provide standards for electronic roaming information exchange to support wholesale billing, fraud prevention, invoicing & settlement, network configuration and commercial agreement.




TSG – Terminal Steering Group

IG – Internet Group

IOT – IoT Safe

Leveraging a hardware secure element, or ‘Root of Trust’, to establish end-to-end, chip-to-cloud security for IoT products and services

Creating the architecture and technical requirements to guide other Standard Developing Organizations (SDOs) to develop specifications for a federated Mobile Edge for the whole industry

DSG – Device Security Group

Working together as an industry centre of expertise to improve the security of mobile and IoT devices

SAM – Secure Applications for Mobile

Providing technical support to allow a third-party, non-operator application to download and execute on the eUICC independently of operator telecom profiles.



AID – Automotive Identity
Group members 60+
Enable individuals to seamlessly use their mobile subscription and mobile services via an in-car system and consumer eSIM, mitigating some of the challenges of using smartphones reliably in cars for telephony and connectivity services.


PQTN – Post Quantum Telco Network Group members 60+
This group is defining the requirements, identifying dependencies, and creating the roadmap to implement quantum-safe networking with the aim of mitigating the risks associated with future, more-powerful quantum computers.



IPR – Intellectual Property Rights Working Group
Promote IP regulations that assist in growing the mobile industry and discourage abusive IP practises.



Authorisation Server – Authenticator Capabilities Group
This group is defining the specifications for 3rd party applications requesting operator customers' seamless authentications.
